Hey, actually want to buy theme park building sim and i know that parkitect and planet coaster are the best games in this genre. Especially considering I just wrapped up Career mode on Planet Coaster. But you're not. Go with Parkitect if you ask me. I can make nice scenery using the default objects to make an attractive park with great visual variety. I'm with you. Parkitect does it all right in my opinion. (Delivering supplies to shops, employee paths etc). Allowing you to create and share designs easily via steam work shop (however no mod support currently). But I really do love the freeform coaster building. Parkitect: A reimagining of Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2. If I had to pick one or th other, it'd be Parkitect 10/10 times. I feel like overall PC is certainly the "better" game, but Parkitect seems to have a certain nostalgia to it that I'd really like to check out. Parkitect is basically a more modern Rollercoaster Tycoon. You are provided with a very powerful terrain editing tool set, you can easily create amazing rocks/hill formations within minutes. I want to love Planet Coaster, but I find the scenery building intimidating. There is a ton of DLC for PC which is a good or bad thing depending on how you feel about it. If you need only Designing then go for Planet Coaster, because campaign or management part is usuless there. Buy both. But it seems to take me less than half the time it would in PC. Planet Coaster is definitely the better-looking game. Oh man, definitely go with Parkitect and don't even doubt about it. About shops and thrill rides, I'm not sure, but I think in Planet Coaster there's a bit more of stuff than in Parkitect. Zoom in and look at them close. Also, it focuses more on managing a park more than Planet Coaster does, but obviously does not have some of the creative capabilities as Planet Coaster. Honestly, I think I'll dig it when they introduce scenarios to that. Parkitect is an actual video game. Sad. The coaster selection even has some that are better variety than Planet Coaster (Bobsled coaster and suspended coaster). I've now completed the career mode in Planet Coaster, and frankly I don't want to spend hours upon hours in sandbox, laying scenery for no real point other than just to do it.
